Grandma's Attic

We've finally got some products for sale on our country craft store, Grandma's Attic.

There are some handmade sewing products from Grandma (a.k.a my Mom) and some candles and earrings from me. Here's a photo of one of my recycled "can"dles.
Keep checking back to see what else is new, or browse the rest of the site for some great crafting ideas.

Look for our retail store opening soon in Bartlett NH.

Recycled Plant Container

Trying to save my poor aloe plant, I decided a transplant was in order, however, I didn't have any plant pots on hand. No problem, there was an entire recycle bin full of plastic containers.

With an appropriate size selected, a quick rinse, a few holes poked in the bottom with scissors, a little dirt and I was in business.

The container cover makes an excellent base to catch any excess water. Not that I am prone to overwatering my plants or anything :)

With temps in the 40's this week, I am definitely thinking about Spring and all the planting that comes with it. My selections are made from the seed catalog and the order is soon to be placed. I think I'll start saving more plastic containers now for future use as recycled plant pots. One less thing going to the dump!!!

Don't take your old jars to the dump, recycle them at home and save yourself some money.

Old glass jars can be reused to make your own candles. Tin cans work very well too. The reflection of the candle light off the inside of the can makes a soft relaxing glow that is twice as enjoyable knowing you are doing your part to reduce, reuse and recycle.

Want to know how to make your own candles, check out our site:

You can reuse even more by remelting the remainder of old candles into one or more rainbow colored homemade recycled "can"dles.

Mary Jane Farm Magazine

My Mom brought me a great magazine she found while visiting Craft Stores around our area.

Mary Janes Farm: Full of wonderful information including recipes, organic living ideas and more.

The web site http://www.maryjanesfarm.org/magazine.html?ck=RTI6-iY1AT6yVOor&vid=RTI6-iY1AYKyVPOe&cktime=79142 is mostly a store site where you can purchase anything from food to household needs. But the magazine is really great.
